I think for farming gold, the most important thing would be to find a fast respawn area first and foremost. Then bring along an animist, mana eldritch and a bard.

I think more kills is better than finding the mobs that drop the most per kill. I saw the Chinese Plat farmers in there all the time so it must be decent if that is where they farm. The spot is probably the Labyrinth now but I will let Hols take over since he knows the place much better than I.

Good salvage, can be streaky. Now, with every expansion the coin locations change. CoC and Laby I prefer to take them, cause they seem to handle aggro better. IF you have a full group, hands down would be farming DS, The named in Catacombs or Named in Mino Labyrinth for the drops that sell rather well, but then you'd have to wait for your CM to sell it.

Another decent area is the Abysmals in the lower section of the Coruscating Mines sp? They sell for a pretty coin amount and we need them for our crafted armor.

To add to what Tergon said, Fins are the fastest respawning Mobs as far as i know about Hib. Just like Modernagrav in Mid. The loot they drop isnt that great and they dont sell back for much.
