Hi all, I've been having a hard time finding a local source for nice thin brass shim material for making pinholes. The one Ace hardware store where I have found it only sells packages containing several thicknesses, most of which are too thick.

Big chain hardware stores just look at me funny.

I got my shim stock at an Ace Hardware store. You can most likely get it at NAPA outlets, as well; it's used for adjusting bearings and setting valve clearances for older overhead cam engines. And you can also probably find it at machine tool suppliers, where it would be used for adjusting bearing clearances and setting lathe tool bits to the proper cutting height.
